Back at Vermont Timber Works...

Today is my second day back at Vermont Timber Works after being gone for more than 3 years.
Even though some things have changed a great deal, there are so many familiarities that make me smile.
I can hear the tools buzzing in the workshop from my desk as the crew creates our newest magnificent frame   .  The pellet stove whirs in the background and warms the room while the smell of sawdust and urethane fill the office with a pleasantly strong odor of hard work in progress.

Whether it's a barn, a church, a home or a commercial building, everything that is shipped from this location is one of a kind.  That too is a comfort in itself.  I know that I am in a place where not only the people, but the product is unique...
and to me that just feels like home.
